TELEVIE Comes to Romania
Belgium's largest oncological research programme expands to Romania. Cluj-Napoca becomes the hub of a future European-standard cancer institute.
Why Romania? Why Cluj?
Romania has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in Europe — a tragedy with multiple causes: late diagnosis, insufficient equipment and lack of research funding.
Cluj-Napoca, with its top universities and existing medical infrastructure, is the ideal location for a centre of oncological excellence. The academic infrastructure exists — what is missing is funding and equipment.
TELEVIE comes to fill this gap, bringing the Belgian research funding model and the vision of the Arsène Burny Institute at CHU Liège.
Oncological medical equipment in Romania is old and technically outdated. Life-saving treatments available in Belgium are inaccessible in Romania. TELEVIE is changing that.

We are at the beginning of the journey, but the dream is clear: a cancer institute that will save Romanian lives with Belgian science.
